“Growing up on a farm in Southern Ontario in Canada holds a lot of fond memories for  me.  My parents still have a dance band called the Country Troubadours.  All five of us children were a part of the family band at one time or another even up to today.  In the early 1980’s my siblings and I finally struck out without our father’s direction and played in clubs and dance halls around Edmonton as a family band called, you guessed it, The Weatheralls.

I love children, and I love old folks.  I had a three-month music therapy job in Edmonton, Alberta at a geriatric hospital back in 1984.  It was there that I learned a lot of old pops from the 20’s and 30’s and ones that were popular around the world wars.  Even when I was a bass player in the Pearl City Band, I would perform in day care and senior centers in whatever town the band was playing.  I found more satisfaction playing for fun in those places than for money in the pubs and bars.   Part of that music therapy experience was working with children of various handicaps.
